8 Guardian Angels for 8 special friends...

My good friend's sister had bought 8 guardian angels from me for her friends as Christmas gift. She ran out of idea what to buy. Besides that, she was trying to avoid going to over-crowded shopping centres... Smart move...

Thank God! I have enough materials to make...

You might not see this in Etsy because I notice that quite a few of etsy sellers are selling it.. However, I still make & sell if anyone orders from me...

New Order for my Wedding Rose Corsages

Recently I received an order from this lovely lady, Cynthia, who is getting married on 30th of Dec 07, to make three wedding rose corsages.. She's been looking around for special & unique corsages, other than the common ribbon corsages. Indeed crocheted corsages are unique...

I've used high quality Japanese arcylic threads... The different between this thread and other thread is, it is coated with pearl powder... That's why, these roses looks glossy & shinny... Expensive Expesive threads!!!

I hope she'll like it...

First meet up with crafters from Malaysia...

Janet from Ipoh, Malaysia & her daughter came to Singapore for holiday... She has a brother working in Singapore. I get to know her from Neddle & Shuttle group. I was very excited because this is my first meeting with crafters. Furthermore, I didn't know how Janet looks like and to identify her... Janet called me around 11am to confirm the meeting place, that was in front of Spotlight & meeting time, that was 2pm... Supposed to be 2pm, I was late by half an hour... Argh!!! I was counting on Janet to aknowledge me as she based on the photos of me in my blog... Thank GOD we managed to find each other...

Janet is a very friendly & lovely lady... Her daughter is 19 who is crazy about Animae... ;) She gave me this pin cushion.... She does crochet, cross-stich & also quilt... Wow... QUILT!! That's my next craft project...

Then, later on, we met another two crafters from Malaysia... Margaret & Jackie, the one who drove all the way from KL!!... They were from Needles & Crafts group. Margaret is the moderator of the group... I've heard from Janet that Margaret does cross-sticth and she has library of craft books from various places (Japan, France, England and etc)... The local crafters love to go to her place... hehehe...

Benefits of Crochet...

Interesting article that I've abstracted from Crochet Cabana

Benefits of Crochet

What are some benefits one can receive from crochet, you might wonder. Well, as I am typing I can think of quite a few, which I will share with you. If you think of others, let me know. Who know? Maybe you’ll find it listed next time you come by. :-)

1) Crocheting keeps your stress levels down by keeping your hands and heart busy (the love which shows through those hand-made gifts)

2) Crochet travels well. Bring those granny squares and put-together projects with you on long road trip, doctor visits, hospital stay (hope you don’t have many of those!)

3) Keep expenses down with gifts hand-made with love

4) Increase your home library with beautiful crochet books. If I live to be 150 years old, I could never make everything in all the books I have, but I love to just flip through and look at all the beautiful pictures.

5) Save for the future -- collect crochet hooks. One day they’ll be worth more, right? Especially those wonderful wood hooks!

6) Okay a silly one -- When you get angry with your spouse or kids, you can throw yarn. It won’t hurt but they’ll know you’re pouting! *LOL*

7) Crochet makes TV watching time seem less frivolous, after all you’re making something useful! AND you can search your favorite shows for crocheted item.

8) Crocheting for charity helps others and helps yourself!
